Kill the roots causing frustrating backups in your sewer line!

RootX is the foaming chemical root killing solution that professional plumbers use all around the United States when dealing with damaging roots that invade sewer pipe lines

A single treatment is easy, takes 15 minutes to flush down a toilet and is proven to keep roots away for 12 months

RootX is an EPA approved foaming chemical root killer that's safe for you and the environment. It foams on contact with water to kill roots, inhibit regrowth, and restore pipe flow capacity

RootX comes in a jar that contains two dry powder chemicals. When these chemicals come in contact with water, they create sticky foam.

This foam fills the entire pipe, coating the roots and pipeline surfaces with the RootX formula.

RootX leaves a residue above the water line that continues to kill roots and inhibits new growth for up to 12 months. The active ingredient, Dichlobenil, is applied at concentrations of .55%.

This is 55 times the minimum level needed to kill root tissue exposed to Dichlobenil from 30 minutes to one hour.

RootX is for you if:

  1. You want to stop getting untimely backups in your sewer line
  2. You want to kill the roots before they do serious damage to your sewer line
  3. You want to prevent root regrowth for 12 months

RootX should be applied only to a free flowing sewer line

Home with roots in sewer line

If the root intrusion in your sewer line is blocking more than 50% of the pipe (i.e. near blockage or completely backed up), it is required that the roots be cut with a snake drain auger prior to the RootX treatment.

If the root intrusion in your sewer line is blocking less than 50% of the pipe, it is not required to cut with a snake drain auger.

If you decide to mechanically cut the roots before application, RootX must be applied immediately, (within 2 hours), or you will need to wait 6-8 weeks. If you've never applied RootX we just suggest a follow up in 2-3 months for maximum effectiveness.

The reason for this is that as soon as roots are damaged or cut, they start secreting sap. The sap will build up enough to become a barrier between the chemical and the wood tissue within 2-4 hours.

By waiting 6-8 weeks, you will have given enough time for the roots to grow back through the sap, thus allowing for the RootX to come in contact with the wood tissue.

The next yearly application is even simpler as it is guaranteed to not require you to snake your sewer line if applied within 12 months!

RootX is NOT for you if:

If a sewer line is left untreated for a long time the roots can grow big enough to extremely damage the pipe.

This causes a big break inside the sewer line that can only be repaired by a professional plumber.

You will know your sewer line is broken if your toilet and drains are backed up and a plumber can't clear it with a snake drain auger.
